Google mobile platforms director Andy Rubin in a recent interview said Google Android smart phone will not set foot in the hardware business, because they do not want to scramble the interests with android in this way.

Last week, Some media reports said that Google plans to launch its own branded Android phones before the end of this year, and bypass the mobile operators and other partners who will sell such products on their own in the major electronic retail stores. For this view, Rubin denied, “we will not create Android mobile phone hardware, Google will corresponding hardware business to other manufacturers.”

Rubin also said that although Google does not involve any Android hardware business, but Android mobile phone design issues will play an important role. If Google had previously involved in the design of Android G1 phone, and requested that G1 phone’s keypad arranged in five rows, but the keyboard design get poor market response. Rubin have joked this, which is perhaps Google Android should not be involved in the hardware part of the reason.

Rubin said that, in addition to participation in design activities Android phone, Google’s main task is the major mobile phone manufacturers with the talks in order to convince these companies are willing to own Android phone to increase the production want to add Google features. In addition, Google need to strengthen business relationship with the channel, so that all kinds of Android phones will be sold in the market.

Google in November 2007 announced that it will host developing Android mobile phone platform. Prior to this there had been rumors that Google will launch its own brand of smart phones, the name for the “Gphone”. However, Google repeatedly said he would not follow the example of Apple’s iPhone business model, but only to provide external Android platform, the hardware business will be given to other handset manufacturers to complete.

HTC’s official tweet accout claimed a message last week that the market rumor is true! Hero will be used Eclair updates.

At the same time in our update to the new version of Android OS , please be patient.

Android 2.0 (code name ‘Eclair’) will introduce an updated user interface, Bluetooth peer-to-peer connections, as well as native Exchange support.

But Europe’s hero users will not get the Google open source mobile phone operating system, ‘Donut’ version, that is Android 1.6 version. HTC said in an e-mail sent to customers that hero will not accept Android 1.6 upgrade, but it will directly upgrade to 2.0.

Once the new version of the Android release, HTC and other mobile phone manufacturers will integrate the new version of its own custom version of OS. The end result is usually sent to the wireless telecommunications service providers, to facilitate branding (branding) and add new features.

Donut is currently with T-Mobile G1, and HTC Magic experience such as a Google phone, but these phones do not HTC Sense user interface panel (skin), so HTC is likely to decide to skip Donut, a direct upgrade to the Eclair – Motorola Droid Mobile has adopted Eclair-, because the Eclair is almost ready to release large-scale.

HTC hero is not an experience of a so-called Google phone, USB cable must be connected to PC for firmware upgrades, but this will need to uninstall the older operating system, and then re-install all of the user settings and applications. So, just skip the Donut, perhaps the right hero Users can also relatively easy.
