The HTC Incredible has not yet been announced officially by Verizon, it’s expected to make its debut at this year’s CTIA along with a slew of other Android based devices. Verizon Wireless fans are impatiently waiting for this to hit the shelves and that may happen within the coming weeks.
A new member of our community by the name of Onyoursix, has uncovered an inventory listing that shows a phone identified as the HTC A9292 with WiMax capabilities. This device can be none other than the upcoming HTC Supersonic. This phone hopefully will debut at this year’s CTIA. This inventory sheet is used by indirect dealers when a product is ready for distribution. Early rumors have this phone being announced next week.
Big props goes out to our friend Chas who sent us this video this morning of a Motorola Droid running on the “official” Android 2.1 update. Apparently, Pete over at Android Overdrive got a hold of what he is reporting to be the official 2.1 Droid update. We’re not entirely sure what’s going on here, but that’s a shot of a Droid Eris running Android 2.1, and we’re told the update came over the air — a story seemingly corroborated by a couple other people around the web. Unfortunately, it seems like things aren’t quite fully baked yet: the update doesn’t include Sense UI, and it apparently wipes all your data and doesn’t allow you to log back into your Google Account. Verizon tells us that the Eris update to a “newer” Android is still in testing and hasn’t yet been officially released, so we’re taking all this to mean that there’s been a slip-up along the line — especially since this obviously isn’t final software. In the meantime, we’d say Droid Eris users should probably back up their sets just to be safe
