The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was announced a LONG time ago but still hasn’t been released. At Mobile World Congress the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro were also announced, so now we’ve got THREE unreleased Xperia phones. Not for long, because BGR is saying that the X10 is 100% heading to AT&T in the April to May timeframe.
Alright Samsung Galaxy owners, be prepared to find the closest corner and begin weeping uncontrollably. Although the likes of the Samsung Moment, Sprint HTC Hero , Droid Eris and HTC Hero are all getting confirmed updates to Android 2.1, rumor has it that not only will the Samsung Galaxy NOT get a 2.1 upgrade… but they’ll be stuck on Android 1.5 for the remainder of the phone’s life cycle. This isn’t official at ALL – initial rumors said the phone WOULD get a 2.1 upgrade but TheUnwired is reporting that out at Mobile World Congress, their sources are saying the phone will never get an upgrade.
The battle for the small phone market is on. First there was HTC’s Tattoo, the Sony announced the Mini X10 And Mini Pro with a keyboard. Now the Pulse Mini enters and it is bringing a weapon to the battle, a stylus.
Push another paper from the “rumor” filing cabinet into the one marked “official” – the HTC Legend just got official at the HTC Press Conference at Mobile World Congress 2010. There aren’t very many surprises here – but the unmistakeably Hero-ish look of the Legend, combined with the equally bold uniqueness make it a handset worth extra yearning. Since it announced its first Android Phone, the CLIQ, Motorola wasted no time becoming a dominant force in the Android World. Their presence at Mobile World Congress 2010 is proving they plan to continue that trend. The company announced the Motorola CLIQ XT in the United States, which will be called the Motorola QUENCH elsewhere in the world
The parade of new Android Phones will soon continue. Although we don’t yet have details on the devices, ZTE just issued a press release announcing that in addition to launching the “ZTE Bingo” brew based phone, they’ll also unveil FIVE Android Phones at Mobile World Congress. Based on their verbage, it seems like the majority of the company’s offerings will be focused on Europe.
