The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was announced a LONG time ago but still hasn’t been released. At Mobile World Congress the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro were also announced, so now we’ve got THREE unreleased Xperia phones. Not for long, because BGR is saying that the X10 is 100% heading to AT&T in the April to May timeframe.
Yesterday when the T-Mobile Pulse Mini got announced and demoed , we were excited that a budget android phone would come stocked with Android 2.1. What we DIDN’T know was the price, but ElectricPig is saying the phone will cost £100 on the Pay-As-You-Go plan – a pretty sweet deal! But they also so they company had to cut some corners to get the costs/price down and one of those corners was GPS. How can an Android Phone not have GPS?
Verizon Wireless USED to be one of the most closed, protective carriers on the planet, suffocating features so their users would have to pay extra for them. With the introduction of the Motorola Droid, that paradigm seemed to shift in a HUGE way.
We just told you that the Droid Eris and HTC Hero were getting the Android 2.1 update and now we’re getting confirmation, additions and a timeline from Sprint. The carrier will be upgrading both their Sprint HTC Hero and Samsung Moment to Android 2.1 and this will be happening in early second quarter – likely meaning April or May. It doesn’t seem like either device will get the FULL Android 2.1, though.
Take the Nexus One, make some minor style/spec adjustments, put it on Orange UK and sign a service contract and what do you have? A FREE PHONE! That’s right: Orange UK just issued a press release stating that, starting in April, they’ll be offering the HTC Desire for free on contracts with certain monthly price plans. The press release also lists the HTC Desire as an “Orange Signature Device” and I’m wondering if that indicates a certain level of exclusivity… or what the deal is there

Push another paper from the “rumor” filing cabinet into the one marked “official” – the HTC Legend just got official at the HTC Press Conference at Mobile World Congress 2010. There aren’t very many surprises here – but the unmistakeably Hero-ish look of the Legend, combined with the equally bold uniqueness make it a handset worth extra yearning.
