If you thought the Dell Mini 5 (5-inch screen) was big for a phone, you haven’t seen the Huawei SmaKit S7 (7-inch screen)! In all due fairness, the device is considered a MID with 3G voice capabilities, and with Bluetooth you’ll probably be using a headset to talk more often than not.
When we saw the video of Dell CEO (Michael Dell) demonstrating the Dell Mini 5 to Michael Arrington, it just looked like a pretty awesome Android Tablet. But that’s not all it is – the device also makes calls and will likely be available on contract from AT&T and T-Mobile! The Mini 5 is rumored to have a 5-inch screen, 800×480 resolution, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5MP camera with flash, front facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and a 1530mAh battery. It will also likely have a 30-pin connector so it can be docked, also enabling HDMI Video Out. At an estimated price tag of $1,000 I’m not sure how many people will actually bite on this – unless AT&T/TMO offer a substantial subsidy.
The T-Mobile Pulse has been out for sometime now, but it appears the trend of “Mini” versions of larger devices will continue – the carrier has just announced the T-Mobile Pulse Mini.

It’s alternately beautiful, gratuitous and bizarre. What you’re seeing in the video is a recording of a live demo; TAT Home is a real piece of software, and one that I’ve seen in action on a handset before the concept was made public.
The lucky Engadget travelers in Barcelona just got their mittens on the Xperia X10 Mini Pro – or at least stood next to an SE representative who gave them a quick guided tour. The idea of the X10 Mini and X10 Mini pro is that they’re designed for people who prefer one-handed use of a phone. The smaller screen and redesigned UX platform are optimized for the more pocketable and more mini experience
