Shortly after Android 2.1 was leaked for the Droid Eris, another upcoming OTA was leaked for the Droid. Kellex from Droid Life flashed this to his phone and then shot this video of it in action. There is still some kinks to workout but it seems to be running really well. Kellex did notice some performance improvements. There are a few things missing in this version of 2.1, there are no live wallpapers, 3D launcher and there are only 3 home screens instead of 5. Judging from Motorola’s recent mishaps with OTA’s (the Cliq OTA actually bricked a few devices) there is no telling when we could expect to see these on our Droid’s

It would have been nice to be in Barcelona, Spain watching HTC announce the Legend and Desire with a front row seat looking at Peter Chou. But like the Rolling Stones say, “you can’t always get what you want,” but if you try, you can get the video on YouTube: I was surprised how QUIET the event was. Maybe it was because there were no huge surprises but I thought the unibody discussion on the HTC Legend was pretty interesting, especially seeing the “carving/sculpting” part of the video.
